The Charles-Valentin Alkan Society of Vienna
Institute for Polyphonic Piano Playing and Sound Aesthetics
Our focus is encouraging and supporting the interest and approach to the art of polyphonic piano playing focussing on the work of composer and pianist Charles-Valentin Alkan.
Contributing to the divulgement of the romantic-transcendental piano repertoire by focussing on the composer Alkan and his contemporaries as Franz Liszt, Frédéric Chopin and other composers who pursued this piano tradition, our society offers expertise through artistic and scientifically proven tools to achieve a better approach to the German-Russian piano tradition.
Following our main purpose we are committed to support outstanding talented artists from all nationalities.
By establishing the connection between art and research as well as education, we offer insight through the ultimate teaching of the pianistic fundament.
